DESCRIPTION:\nPrograms of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) serve seniors with chronic care needs by providing access to the full continuum of preventive, primary, acute, and long term care services. PACE programs take many familiar elements of our traditional health care system and reorganize them in a way that makes sense to families, health care providers, and the government programs and others that pay for care. CarePartners will be starting a PACE program serving Buncombe/Henderson Counties in the spring of 2014.  Come to this informative meeting and learn about this new and innovative  program and a new option for the care needs of our aging population.\n \nAbout our speaker:\n \nTom Adkins is the Vice President of Business Development for CarePartners Health Services and oversees all marketing and public relations activities. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University and his Master’s from Troy State University. Tom served for nine years on active duty with the U.S. Navy as a Naval Flight Officer and Public Affairs Officer. Following his active duty service, he was a pharmaceutical sales representative in WNC for multiple divisions of Johnson & Johnson. Tom also currently serves in the U.S. Navy Reserve as a Captain and is the senior Reserve Public Affairs Officer at U.S. Southern Command in Miami. Tom joined CarePartners in May 2010. \n
